A History of Pankration Athlima

the Ancient image of the fighters Pankration, which was used for creation of an emblem ÔÏÓ    PANKRATION - revived ancient Olympic kind single combat. The word "Pankration" occurs from the name of one of kinds single combat, for the first time included in the program of Olympic games of Ancient Greece per 648 years B.C.
   Pankration, being synthesis of struggle and êóëà÷íîãî of fight, has ancient historical roots. Small City Olimpia, in a picturesque valley of the river Àëôåé, at bottom of a sacred mountain Olimp, became a place of realization of ancient Olympic games. From single combat program of antique Olympic games included struggle, êóëà÷íûé fight, and since Olympiad 648 up to AD and Pankration. Pankration began the competitions for 4 days of Olympic games, being by the most difficult and original competition. Therefore winners of Olympic games in Pankration became the national heroes. The technique of preparation áîéöîâ, created in Pankration, has passed in ancient Rome, where with it have got acquainted ancient Gall and German. The knowledge Pankration through armies of Aleksander Makedonsky, won Persia andup to India, long before our era was brought in those places, whence in some centuries Bodhidharma has set off to China.
   Pankration, perhaps, most original and most difficult competition of ancient Olympic Games. The essence of this kind of sports consist in realization of a duel two unaided àòëåòîâ with application of receptions of struggle, impacts by hands and legs, painful manual. The fighters did not use what - or protective equipment. In this competition the Greeks saw an excellent means of preparation of the young men to hand-to-hand during wars.
   Chempions In Pankration became the national heroes.
   All the same severe constraints of realization of duels resulted in a plenty of traumas menacing to health athlets. For this reason Greek the struggle Pankration was not kept up to now in initial a kind.
   Go To us from depth of centuries, from the program of ancient Olympic Games Pankration experiences nowadays second youth. A revived kind of struggle of the more safely ancient predecessor. The duels in it will be carried out with use of easy, convenient and reliable protective adaptations substantially lowering travmatism. Thus the essence of struggle remains constant. Àòëåòàì it is authorized to apply practically all arsenal of technical actions of struggle free, ãðåêî - Roman, sambo, djudo, east single combat, boxing. With the purpose of revival on a new basis, according to modern realities and requirements to sports 21 centuries, and also inclusion Pankration in Olympic games, the World Federation single combat Pankration in Athenes (Greece) (W.P.A.F.) was created. Working in close cooperation with the Ministry on sports and Ministry on formation(education) and religion, W.P.A.F. has developed the program of revival Pankration as Olympic discipline.
the Ancient image of the fighters Pankration, statue Pankration    Â Frameworks of this program from August 25 till August 30, 2002 in one Calavrita (Greece) WPAF has invited the representatives from all world with the purpose of realization of a seminar and distribution of the certificates to official representation. Recognizing that our organization since 1999 develops Pankration in Ukraine, it was offered to us to take part in a world forum. At a seminar there were representatives of USA, Canada, Mexico, France, Italy, Portugal, Australia, Iran, Lithuania, Ukraines and many others. On final ceremony there was a Minister of sports of Greece, which has handed the certificate of the official representative in Ukraine to the vice-president Aleksander Mandryk. Also it was offered, using the official sanction WPAF, to register Ukrainian Pankration Federation .
   In the end ÕÕ of century Pankration has continued the development in the form of the various modified or not structured systems of hand-to-hand fight, in the form of absolute duels: categorical fights in USA, ïðàéä in Japan, âàëåòóäî in Brasil etc.
   Begining in Since 1995, Pankration has received the development in Ukraine, so in October, 1995 the first Championship of Ukraine on "Pankration" in one was carried out Kharkov. Then the first modular team of Ukraine participated in November, 1996 in a Championship of the world on "Pankration" in one to Moscow.
   The interest of the spectators, sponsors both sportsmen is caused by organization and realization of duels of Pankration in Ukraine. Such tournaments became "Kiev brilliant" and "Yalta brilliant", which since 1999 will regularly be carried out in Kiev and Yalta accordingly.
